Weekly Challenge #205 - Year of the Goat (or the Rabbit)

Huh?This week's Diva Challenge was to represent the Chinese Zodiac for 2015 - Year of the Goat.

I don't know diddly about goats... or sheep. I was just finishing up my tile trying to convince myself it was worth posting and the boyfriend walks by and says "Looks like the Trix Rabbit ears."

Well, my heck! Once you see it, you can't UNSEE it, so here's my Year of the Rabbit tile (and a really crooked scan!).

I'm either 4 years too late, or 9 years early. Your choice.

Patterns used: Jujubeedze and Gnarly

  1. I do like your tile, it's very original. I just woke up, had a cup of coffee, read your post and .... couldn't stop smiling because of that rabbit :-)
On my blog you 'asked' me for my zendala or ring; if you really like the zendala I will be more then pleased to send it to you. If so, please give me your address, My email adres is aaceha@gmail.com.

  4. You chose the perfect tangles to use to represent Chinese lanterns. (I have a photo of some Lunar New Year's lanterns we saw in Vietnam last year on my blog post challenge response). As for the rabbit ears---if you hadn't said anything---I probably would not have been thinking rabbit ears---let alone Trix rabbit ears. If you asserted they were goat horns, that's all I would see. Happy Lunar Year!

  5. A delightful Tile, Duchess. I love your Jujubeeda pattern. The Tassels are a great touch.

  6. Oh what a wonderful tile! It's simple, yet so elegant. Who cares if those are goat horns or rabbit ears...zentangle is non-representational after all - and the laugh was an enormous day brightener. Thanks!

  7. Trix rabbit ears? It looks a whole lot like the more ancient version of the Sheep character in Chinese pictographs, to me. The jujubeedze are perfect for the theme, too. Very chinese lantern-y. Good work

  10. See...if you just flip them over the shapes can be either horns or rabbit ears. Such a clever girl!
