Weekly Challenge #379 - Holidaze

Diva challenge was to make a holiday themed tile this week. I'm exchanging 12 home made cards with a friend, so this fits right in. Big chunky Huggins filled with Bumper and Opus. I really like the finished effort. :)

And I've just come back from a trip, so I'm WAAAY behind on my spinner (homemade), but I'm definitely going to finish. It's so nice to revisit the "original" zentangles.

Weekly Challenge #378 - UMT 123 O'Leary

This week's Diva Challenge was to use the tangle 123 O'Leary. Looking at the finished product, I feel like I've let Antonine down. I tried a few different variations, but I'm not really happy with the final tile. I WILL say that I was pretty zen doing them though, so it's still a win.

Weekly Challenge #377 - Fengle vs Poke Root

This week's Diva Challenge is a duotangle. Fengle and Poke Root. Neither are big favorites of mine, which means this challenge was a challenge. I played around a while and this is the best I could do. I just don't know how to make Poke Root interesting. I look forward to seeing what you guys have come up with. (I never peek before I post.)

Weekly Challenge #376 - String Theory

This week's Diva Challenge was for everyone to use the same string, and perhaps make four to create a mosaic. Never one to back down from a challenge, and what the heck it was a rainy day, so what else was there to do...

Top Left: Copada, Knyt, Fracas
Top Right: Aura Leah, Shattuck, (Grrr... messed up that one in the middle), Coil, Ahh
Bottom Left: Diva Dance, A-Fog, Florz, Pepper
Bottom Right: Phicops, Queen's Crown, Mooka/Laced (also wonky), and ------?

My question to you esteemed CZTs is how do you choose which tangles to use together? I'm kind of hit and miss on these. My Shattuck shouldn't have been next to Aura Leah. My A-Fog. was too similar to the Diva Dance. Is there a rule of thumb on how to choose which tangles to put adjacent to others? Weight, style, box vs. ribbon vs. organic? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,
Duchess

Weekly Challenge #375 - Burtz

This week's Diva Challenge was to use "Burtz" in our tile. It seemed a little flat to me, so I curved it up a bit in a mandala-ish twist. Also used BB and Toodles.

Weekly Challenge #374 - Splotch-Tastic

Happy Halloween!

This week's Diva challenge was to take a blob of paint and fold the paper to make two "tiles". I used some watercolor pencils to start my Halloween tributes. These were a bit more intensive than my usual tiles, and by the end of the second tile, my hand was TIRED! Just means I need a bit more tangling, or maybe a bit more wine :-)

Top tile: Articulated Molygon, Pendrills, Barber Pole, Indy Rella, Drawings, Gourdgeous, and Quib.
Bottom tile: Purk, Dragonaire, Snails, Zinger, Aquafleur, Swarm, and Myst.

Thanks for all the supportive and helpful comments. You are all so talented and I learn something every week looking at your challenges.

Weekly Challenge #373 - Non Dominant Tangling

This week's Diva challenge was to tangle with your non-dominant hand. Yes, that was me you heard groaning. I usually dread this challenge. A tile that would have taken 15 minutes, took over an hour. Pretty pleased with the result though. (Zinfandel helped).

Fescue, Meer, Onamato freshwater pearls ;), and W2.

Weekly Challenge #372 - Dewd

The Diva's challenge this week was Dewd. Still not sure I have those auras right, but what a fun tangle! I paired it up with its alphabetical pal "Dex", who looks a bit squished on the left, but oh well. It's more organic that way, yeah?

Weekly Challenge #371 - Onion Drops

This Diva Challenge was a little tougher than I thought it would be. You need a steady hand to do a good job of this, but once you get in the groove, it's fun. I added in the Icanthus because I just cleaned out all the dead vines from my garden today. Sad. All I have left is a few radishes.

Weekly Challenge #369 - Orbs

This week's Diva Challenge was Orbs. I've been playing around with taking two pencils that have been rubber-banded together and making ribbons.

Totally messed up with stripe right in the middle though, and there really aren't that many orbs, so I took a second swing at it. I'm trying to use tangles that I haven't used before.

Sorry... Cirquital still looks likes teeth to me.

Weekly Challenge #368 - Straight Lines

Had to go with my mac 'n cheese Paradox for this one. I just love the way that the straight lines curve!

Weekly Challenge #367 - Nzepple

Got all done with this week's Diva Challenge, and had to change tonight's menu to corn on the cob... :)

Weekly Challenge #365 - Back to Basics

Well, I've only missed the last 250 challenges, but it's time to get back at it...
the Diva's back to basics is the perfect way to restart.
