Back pre-kids, a friend and I liked to take card making classes. We did one where you cut a shape out of folded tissue paper, dyed it with food coloring and then opened it up. This is one of our favorite patterns from way back when.
Not sure of the patterns... I may have made a couple up;) Static, Heart... something, Kitl... sorta.
Clever interpretation.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very clever! I liked it very much.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really interesting zendala. I can find so many details when I look at it. The angels creating hearts - so clever.
ReplyDeleteLovely interpretation of the challenge.
ReplyDeleteApart from the fact that it is a clever and witty take on the challenge, I can't get over how beautifully evenly spaced it is. How did you do that? Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice :)
ReplyDeleteHa! I had a similar reaction to the challenge but like you, I found my zen and went with it. Your tile is beautiful and would make a lovely holiday card.
ReplyDeleteThis Tile is off the chart for creativity. Stunning use of patterns and wonderfully designed Zendalla. So well done, Duchess.
ReplyDeleteI got the bug to do a paper doll chain zendala too - Love your version!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this 'dolly' zendala.
ReplyDeleteThis is really super - I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very creative way of getting dolled up!
ReplyDeleteA great zen-dolla! I reminds me of the string of paper dolls you can cut from a folded paper...very clever tangles too!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to do the challenge this way, had to look twice before I got it, but you did a whole bunch of dolls holding hands, great!
ReplyDeletethat is very pretty - love it when people go in different directions
ReplyDeleteWow. Great shading. It looks like the zendala has been unfolded after being cut out.
ReplyDeleteTERRIFIC TILE!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling dense this morning and don't quite understand the technique you learned in card making class---with the tissue paper cut out .... but you came up with something pretty and creative, so it's all good ;-)
ReplyDeleteL'idée est originale. l'impression de relief est bien rendue.
ReplyDeleteThe idea is original. relief impression is great.
I love that Lynell christened it a "Zen-dolla". I think that should go on the list of official Zentangle terms! So cute and creative! It really gives the impression of folded paper laying on the paper. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design! I agree with Lynell and Antonine about the "Zen-dolla" term. It fits it perfectly. The tangles you used are very well executed. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how you turned this challenge around and your post made me laugh out loud. Your patterns are great and the "Zen-dolla" is absolutely perfect! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteVery clever piece. This zendala (zendolla ha!) has a great flow to it. The outer ring of dolls is spectacular--they look like they're dancing. I wonder if they're singing "It's a Small World." Thank you for playing with my challenge this week. :-)
