And on to the Diva Challenge for the week. Glad to have the Diva back and everyone on the mend. I played around with Arukas for a while, but it's... So. Many. Straight. Lines.
My pen started wandering and I just followed along. I considered putting something in the center (Snowflake? Hubcap? Smiley Face?) but I thought the flat white space was a nice balance to all the other chaos.
Pattern used: Arukas
ReplyDeleteWonderful interpretation and I really like the curvy lines breaking up the straights.
This is very cleverly done and your shading is excellent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely composition and shading.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Arukas variation. Love the weaving of the pieces of row throughout the Arukas
ReplyDeleteOh what a great tile with arukas! I love the way you make lines between the other ones (you know what I mean?) and your shading is so beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to get one of your packages in the post. Lovely. I really like your wandering lines! Such a nice sense of movement. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteLovely tile, the white space gives the tile a stronger look
ReplyDeleteYou're right! As a newbie Arukas tangler, I never got past the straight lines. The most I could do was to add a scene around it. You, on the other hand, very successfully turned your akuras into an interesting composition. Good one.
ReplyDeleteI love your arukas tile...it is so inspiring! I need to practice more and seeing everyone's work is encouraging. Thanks for this beauty!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely tile with Akuras! Great linework!
ReplyDeletelove your version of arukas (although I agree about all those straight lines) you have done a lovely job adding some organic feel to the pattern
ReplyDeleteVery nice, your highness! To get them to REALLY float, pencil them in first - no ink outline, and just shade. That tip was courtesy of whoever started this obsession (can't remember) and really works! I love the white space you left. It makes your eye move around to all the other great stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh, good tip. I'll give that a try next time. It does make them float-ier.
DeleteYou did very well in leaving the center open. I love your variation on Akuras.
ReplyDeleteI love your Tile. Very creative design. Superb line work.
